The SARplan section provides dynamic information concerning the satellites' earth coverage over time and their mass and manoeuvres evolution. The SAR earth coverage is updated weekly and an historical archive covering each satellite since launch is available.

Data from ERS-2, ESA's veteran spacecraft, is experiencing an increasing demand as the 12-year-old mission's products and services are playing a vital role in the initial activities for Global Monitoring for Environment and Security, such as the MARitime Security Service project which addresses the European concern of illegal marine trafficking.

ERS-2 is a notable European engineering achievement, reaching the milestone of 10 years in orbit on 21 April 2005 with all instruments still working and providing excellent data.
