Status

As from 1st of July 1983 FESG was arranged as 'Betriebseinheit (BE)' in the faculty of 'Bauingenieur- und Vermessungswesen' at TUM. This was done in the course of the transferation of SFB 78 'Satellitengeodäsie' in a permanent organisation (Research Group Satellite Geodesy, FGS).

Function

"Major task of this BE at TUM is the participation in measuring and upgrading the fundamental station Wettzell, especially to hold up the permanent measurements and researches at the radio telescope Wettzell."

Integration in Research Group Satellite Geodesy (FGS)

On the part of the TUM the Forschungseinrichtung Satellitengeodäsie (FESG) and the institut for astronomical and physical geodesy (IAPG) are the participating institutions.
