The Australian Spatial Data Directory (ASDD) provides these search interfaces to discover geospatial dataset descriptions (metadata) throughout Australia. A dataset description is a concise document which consistently explains a certain set of geospatial (earth-related) data, and provides links to further information and possibly to the actual data.

The ASDD is an ANZLIC - the Spatial Information Council Australian Spatial Data Infrastructure (ASDI) initiative.

The ASDD quarterly report for July to September 2008 is now available.

• There are less basic and less advanced searches this quarter than last quarter.
• There are more visitors and less accesses to the ASDD this quarter than last quarter.
• The ASDD gateways were available for 98% of this quarter.
• Congratulations to; Australian Hydrographic Office - Product Metadata, Australian Hydrographic Office - Publication Metadata, Australian Hydrographic Office - Source Metadata, Bureau of Meteorology, Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines Spatial Data and Geoscience Australia for having valid ANZLIC Version 2 metadata.
• Congratulations to; Geoscience Australia for being available 100% of the time during this quarter.
• The Australian Antarctic Data Centre, Other Commonwealth Agencies (hosted by BRS), BRS and Australian Natural Resources Data Library (ANRDL) and WALIS ASDD nodes were unavailable for this quarter.
• Some nodes may have content problems with their metadata. Details can be found at advanced results and in the quarterly report. These nodes are:
