DEA is a leader in terrestrial, GPS, 3D Laser scanning (HDS) and hydrographic surveying. Our resources include more than 225 people within the firm who are dedicated to the surveying and mapping discipline, with more than 70 of them holding professional land surveying registrations. With our surveyors' extremely diverse experience and depth of resources, we offer a proven track record of cost-effective and technically excellent services. With multiple office locations throughout the West, we offer the benefits of quick response from our entire professional staff for emergency and time critical projects.
When a project demands innovative solutions, whether it is for speed, accuracy or safety, DEA's surveyors’ use the appropriate leading-edge technology to achieve the client's desired results. DEA was one of the first firms on the West Coast to offer GPS positioning. In addition, DEA has owned and operated 3D Laser scanning technology (HDS) since 2001. Our Leica HDS technology allows the collection, visualization, and modeling of complex structures and sites with unprecedented speed, accuracy, and completeness.
Our Leica 3D laser scanner employs pulsed laser technology to scan target areas and return, on the fly, 3D "point cloud" which looks like a detailed color rendering of a scene. The point cloud is three dimensional so it can be viewed from any perspective and every point has an accurate horizontal and vertical position. The unit can be used to scan complex, hard-to-reach, or hazardous areas with relative ease.
