New research on laser scanning vegetation

Date: Jun 25, 2007

New research by CESR staff has measured the structure of forest canopies using a terrestrial laser scanner. The research was conducted as part of an EU Framework 5 programme aimed at characterizing the 3d structure of forests in Switzerland for input into forest fire prediction models. CESR researchers collaborated with researchers from the Department of Geography, University of Zurich.
