Utilizing TCP/IP protocol, Ptolemy delivers the required survey data
(via distributive processing techniques) to either a network of computers
or within a single computer, e.g. a laptop. Fully windows based, a networked Ptolemy survey spread consists of modular units linked together by a single network cable. Any computer within the network may access these modules e.g. the display module, the interface module, the data logger, the replay module or other device module supplied by Norcom Technology. The Ptolemy file database is fully compatible with Norcom 2nd generation software file formats. Basic menu commands are the same as 2nd generation Norcom, with additional features particular to Ptolemy. |
